# Are Dopefests still a thing? Or any Chicagoland SMDB meetups?

I just moved to Chicago last week and walked by the Chicago Reader building 🆒 I was like, whooooa, I know that place!

The SDMB is the oldest community I’m still involved in (14+ years now!) and I’d love to meet some fellow Dopers. Are the Dopefests still a thing, and if so, how do I find the closest ones? I remember there being a separate subforum years ago for them, but seems to be gone now…

I haven’t been to one in years, but I’m always up for a trip to Chicago. If nothing else, I try to get to Wrigley for a Cubs game. They used to have threads in MPSIMS about them.
