# Are double-clawed hammers still used anywhere?

Saw one on a recent TV episode (with a modern setting). Googling shows that they were in use in the early 1900s to better remove more than one size of nail, but I have never seen or heard of them before.

FWIW, I have a couple of them. They are useful for pulling nails.

That looks like an fantasy RPG murder weapon carried by a faerie or a very small ~~hobbit~~ hafling. I can’t remember the last time I actually used a hammer to pull a nail because I always keep a Wonder Bar handy.

Looks like it would be handy pulling longer nails - start with the top claw, then switch to the lower claw to finish the job. Avoids needing to stick a block of wood under the head for the second pull…
