While not actual pansies or cowards they are remarkably passive overall, especially romantically and physically. There are few if any “take charge” men in his comics. Women generally rule the roost across the board in McEldowney’s stories.
McEldowney is amazing at drawing the most hideous facial expressions I’ve ever seen. I’ve seen these terrible rictus grins on Edda and Thorax before as well, and it will be too soon if he never does that again.
Edda’s facial expression is reminiscent of Diane’s post-honeymoon rictus.

And Juliette’s reaction would probably depend on whether she was wearing her Panther Woman undies. Gran’s, on the other hand, would freeze the entire cosmos faster than Ice-9™.
I wonder how this will affect their playing together in the competition. I see it either really intensifying both of them and giving Amos a win or making them lose concentration so he loses.
