Are employees of stores with Allpoint ATMs sworn to secrecy?

The employees have zero to do with the ATM, why would they know anything about it? I wouldn’t even expect them to know if it’s working. While you’re at it, why not ask them when the gumball machines will get restocked or who paints the stripes in the parking lot?

Yes, in the US you can deposit at ATMs outside your own bank as long as they participate in a shared network. NYCE is an example:

It comes in handy when your own bank closes the branch near you and you need to make frequent deposits.

That’s overstating the case a bit :

Both your financial institution and the ATM owner must participate in the NYCE Shared Deposit program for you to use the service. First, check with the financial institution that issued your debit card to find out if you can make deposits at other participating NYCE ATMs.

So yes, you can make deposits at a different bank’s ATM if both your bank and the ATM bank participate in NYCE and also in the shared deposit program. Both belonging to NYCE isn’t enough. When I look up my zip code , there are 39 NYCE ATMs- but not a single one is shared deposit.
