# Are Hot Dogs sandwiches?

Mix Sriracha sauce and peanut butter. Gives it sort of a Thai flavour.

Yeah, I’ve abandoned discussions of bizarre “sandwiches” by saying “For me, it’s got to be **Bread** / **Meat** ,etc./ **Bread**.”

So, even though I’d never ask someone if they want a sandwich and then say “Surprise!” and hand them a hot dog, I’ve got to admit it does meet my hardass requirements.

_Oh, man, why did I open this thread? Now I’m craving a Chicago 'dog from a street vendor!_  
(I used to arrange my biking route so I’d pass a cart mid-afternoon, but haven’t seen them since the start of That Pesky Pandemic…)

People say this, but the only real salad ingredient it has is tomatoes. Yea, it comes with a pickle spear, as many sandwiches do (and a hot dog is one). You can take it off, like I do, when eating. (Ted’s in Buffalo also serves their dog with a pickle spear on it.) You don’t have to eat it along with the dog. And it has optional sport peppers. Marginally a salad ingredient.

There’s onion, too.

I’ve never eaten a hot dog with the pickle spear. I consider it the _amuse bouche_.
