Damn, but there’s a lot of broken links to it out there, though. Heh, I wonder how they got the thing out afterwards? Living in the UK I only rarely see them, but they do exist despite the utter stupidity of trying to drive them on our weeny roads. There was one wally who had one in Cambridge when I lived there, where the streets are approximately \>.\< this wide. I dread to think how many cyclists he had to scrape off the undertray each night. ---

\*\* Are Hummers (and Hummer drivers) evil or stupid?\*\* As far as the drivers, how about just complete fucking tools? I had one pull up behind me while I was dropping my wife and daughter off in front of the grocery store. He pulled right up behind us to the point where my wife couldn’t walk between the vehicles and had to go around him. I pulled away from the curb and into a parking space, of which there were plenty since it was 10:00 at night. The Hummer driver pulled up to where I’d been and put it in park, thus effectively blocking anyone from using the ramp entrance and instead having to negotiate the unramped curb. His passenger got out and I thought okay, now he’ll pull up. Nope. Several customers came out of the store and each time had to go around his goddamn monstrosity and drop their carts off the curb, each giving him a dirty look. This rudeness ticked me off and I started to get out and knock on his door but, probably fortunately since I wasn’t going to have nice things to say, my girls came out and we just left. That sonuvabitch apparently in fact did own the road and apparently didn’t give a shit about being rude and an imposition to everyone else. Again, what a complete fucking tool. There’s a dealership near where I work and I’ll often encounter Hummers being taken for test drives on my way home. Buncha slack jawed idiots in an oversized vehicle they’re unfamiliar with and incapable of controlling effectively dodging into my lane to avoid a pothole has made for more scary encounters that I care to remember. My little roadster is more capable of negotiating bad roads than those worthless piles of crap. ---

I think buying a hummer is stupid, but it’s their money so I don’t really care. As for being hard to see around, that’s true, but there are plenty of trucks on the road already that are hard to see around so the relatively few hummers out there really don’t add much to the problem. The one exception I can think of is when the hummer has advertising on it. I’ve seen this quite a bit and it makes sense. They do attract your eye. ---

I’m also having the feeling that I shouldn’t be posting BC (Before Caffeine), but woundn’t putting more passengers on the plane increase the plane’s total weight, and therefore increase its fuel consumption? Though of course when you consider the mass of the aircraft itself, adding additional passengers _would_ probably decrease the amount of fuel used per person, but I doubt that it’s anything like the 66% figure (which comes from space occupied by first class seats as opposed to coach, correct?) ---

I drove a little motorbike for a couple of years in lieu of a car, and you wouldn’t believe the stupid things car drivers do. Probably the worst thing is tailgating; I don’t know how many times I cursed some idiot housewife in a three ton station wagon who was riding my butt like she was trying to crawl up my tailpipe. Many drivers treat you like you’re invisible or just not there. I realize some people on bikes, both motorized and non-motorized, do some very stupid things and show a lack of consideration for car drivers, but let’s face it. Who’s more like to get hurt in a collision, a car driver or a bike rider? ---

Cheating in otherwords. Everytime I see a hummer on the road my first thought is "wow, your dick must be HUGE :rolleyes: ". I don't dislike SUVs in general. I even know a few people who got there for good reasons (snow, living on a farm, business etc) but there is really no good reason to get a hummer. The good point is that nowdays, to fill one up probably costs about $70 :p ``` ---

Of course people have the right to spend as much as they want on their cars. I’m not stopping them. But every time I see a Hummer, I think “asshole.” I can’t imaging any non-asshole wanting to own such a stupid vehicle. ---
