Are Jews Really Smarter?

I used to believe jews are smart because upclose they are. However, if they were really smart they would have created long ago a country where others; Germans, British, Romans, Ancient Greeks, Swiss, Americans, French, Swedes, etc., would want to migrate to. It never happened. In fact is the other way around, thousands, milliions of jews migrated to those countries because theye obviously are not talented enough to create their own prosperous country.

Furthermore, they always migrate to countries where antisemites who expell, even kill them by the thousands, by the millions (holocaust), always flourish.

It seems jews need non jews more than non jews need jews.

Even now they depend on non jews for the survival of israel. To bank survival of israel on the support of US is suicidal because sooner or later non jewish americans will turn on jews. Deja vu all over again.

Sure Einstein and many other jews are smart at some things yet extremely stupid at living in prosperous, demovratic, peaceful country of their own. Gypsies are also very smart at some things but… In fact, jews are sort of establishment gypsies, now on top, tomorrow at the bottom, here today, gone, or dead, tomorrow.

It is obviusly not intelligent to go to bed every night never knowing when or why antisemites will take everytjing you have away.

Next catastrophe for jews lies in wait in the US, mark may words. Sure, a number of non jews will pretend to be sorry, shocked, surprised but few will lift a finger. Just like in Germany, Russia, Spain, UK, France, ancient Rome, ancient Egypt, etc.

So, no matter how many million jews were murdered in the holocaust, how many menorahs they set up in berlin or washington, how mant holocaust museums are created or how many movies about nazi atrocities and survivors, nothing will change. As of this writing Jewish organisatuions estimate 25% of the whole world does not like jews, that is several billion people. In the US right now there are some 50 million self confessed antisemites and who knows how many more tens of millions are lying low (even among the most vociferous jewish supporters who only pretend to love israel and jews to get elected). Certainly if I were a jew a would not trust any of the politicians who suck up to the jewish community (which I am sure despises them because they know their support van not be sincere because it is not free, is for their self interest, not because they care about the jews). If jews were smart they would see the obvious; US support for jews and israel is extremely unstable.

First time the Economist has disappointed me, giving a voice to this dreck. IMHO, the researchers need to read Stephen Jay Gould’s book The Mismeasure of Man.

That’s always been put down to a culture that values education and learning. The same is said about Asian immigrants in relation to other groups. I’m much more comfortable with that explanation than ones that classify ethnic, religious or national groups as being inherently more or less intelligent.

…yes and no. I do think values on education and learning matter a lot, but in all scientific honesty, there are several gene allele’s strongly associated with (better or worse) memory, attention span and other cognitive abilities. And these allele frequency can differ between races. Same is true for other physical attributes. Perfect pitch (due to high pitch memory) for instance is much more common among Asians. This isn’t caused by culture or effort. It’s genetic.

Now ‘better’ is of course subjective. Every change has consequences, and it could very well be that a better short term memory, or attention span for that matter, means reduced ability in some other field. But the educational system places most value on a subset of mental skills, these are the aspects addressed by IQ tests.

There might be winning combinations of seemingly unfavourable cognitive abilities which IQ tests can’t address, because ironically, its designed to test the norm of the populace. NOT the exceptions. And some traits are impossible to measure by a standardized paper test, such as creativity or social intelligence.

Even still, some genes might very well give you a benefit with achieving academic success. Whether these genes are more likely to be found among Jewish people is another question.

From personal experience I would blame Jewish mothers who won’t stop mentally scarring their children until they have all become doctors. If this trait is genetic I would call it neither desirable or superior.

I don’t know where to dig the statistic up but I remember reading that the about 25% of americans have a bachelor degree and about 5% have a graduate degree. Among jewish people the rates were 50% and 25% respectively.

Perhaps, but intelligence isn’t the only thing to consider. There may (and probably is) a cultural drive to get degrees that isn’t as prevalent or powerful elsewhere. To make a comparison with another ethnoreligious group, the Amish are generally culturally averse to higher education and many of them don’t even have a high school diploma, let alone a university degree. Their culture teaches that you don’t need academic credentials to do well. Does that mean that Amish people are of lower intelligence and/or are stupid? If you’ve ever met any, you know the answer is no, they aren’t stupid by any means. Many of them run their own farms or businesses. That takes some smarts to do. You don’t need rocket science, but you can’t own and manage your own farm if you’re a brain-dead slob.
