I live in the pacific northwest. Today it was raining and about 40 degrees out. The standard high school “uniform” is comprised of long basketball shorts and a t-shirt with maybe a zip up hoodie. Oddly enough, even when raining (and I don’t mean drizzle) the high schoolers wear the hoodie and don’t have the hood on. Even though we have lived in the area for 6+ years, my kids and I all point and laugh. YMMV ---

Today is the second day of summer in Australia, and true to form in my part of the country the weather was cool. Yes, I wore a hoodie. I’m a middle-aged grandma, about as far removed from a gangsta or hooligan as you can get. 😃 ---

I’d guess they’d be more likely to wear hoodies because they were cheap and comfortable, but YMMV… ---
