You are correct, polking fun at men is considered fine, but that in itself is not the really the problem. It’s the manner in which society polks fun at men. Men are viewed as idiots, rapists, brutal beasts in need of castrating… and we are going down a dangerous path to say the least. ---

I tried to watch it but that video has intentional effects that look like they were designed by a high school girl and the narrator is one of the least masculine men this side of side of Richard Simmons. I understand the overall point. I get pissed off at hard-core feminists as much as anyone because I believe they are both wrong and dishonest in their intentions (plus they tend to put a damper on some really fun parties). I am raising two young daughters and they are the only children that I have ever had and I am thrilled with that. One is a tomboy and the other is a very girly-girl through no particular intention. I have never been especially tied to my own gender identity even though I am definitely a male due to circumstance. I would never force my kids, no matter what sex, into any rigidly defined gender roles because I prefer an a la carte approach. I do arts and crafts with my daughters as long as they go with me to admire the gun display case at the Bass Pro Shop every once in a while. I have both male and female friends and have been the lone male at a “girls night out” many times and had a great time. My personal experiences make me question why other people seem to be so tied to a very specific gender identity rather than just choosing individual activities that they like. Rigid “feminine” and “masculine” thinking is very illogical in my mind. I can understand why certain activities are more closely identified with one side of the spectrum more than the other because that is the way human brains work but it still doesn’t make a lot of sense in political or even individual terms. Many languages have the concept of gender as well but that doesn’t mean that words literally have a penis or vagina. They are just concepts that are there for everyone to use. The video is a poorly done propaganda piece rather than educational or motivational one but, if you try hard enough, you can find some valid points. Leftist radical feminist thought has gone overboard with the concept of male ‘privilege’ in my not so humble opinion. It refuses to acknowledge that middle class and above females in the U.S. at least have many ‘privileges’ of their own that are at least equal if not superior too those of males in the same demographic. You can see it in actual data such as college graduation rates and success in graduate school not to mention extreme legal and societal advantage in family matters. Men are usually at a hopeless disadvantage once they slip that ring on her finger. If you stay, she will be the unofficial head of the household and control everything from finances to whether you can have children or not and everything in between. If you decide to divorce over that, she still wins in almost all ways. Most people know that but somehow don’t still don’t acknowledge that exerting direct control over almost every important life decision either large or small is the most important power of all. The narrative presented is still false in many ways however. One of the examples presented was that men are always told that they are dumb. We can find prominent examples of that but also an equal number of counter-examples that are even more extreme. People have never seriously called me dumb simply because I am not. It would be like calling a typical professional basketball player short - it just doesn’t make any sense. Maybe the narrator isn’t that bright and is attributing a valid personal criticism to a universal trend when it isn’t. The same goes for many of the other, overly dramatic, examples that don’t apply to many or even most men. The writers could have picked better examples like a husband being beaten by his wife and then getting arrested for domestic violence himself when the police respond or being the one picked to do a dangerous job at work for no extra pay or overtime even if there are women around that are more qualified to do it. ---
