Since SDMB is going subscription there are going to be a few that will not subscribe. Have some dopers just thrown in the towel, told off a mod or two and packed it in? It appears that there are more “banned” going around and was amused to find at least a couple of socks come off [in this thread.](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=245992&highlight=banned) Anyone else noticed an increase in this rate? ---

Well, that was an interesting link. There was at least one other self-outing of a sock in another similar thread. There was also a recent mini-invasion of white-supremacist trolls from the Stormfront message board, so that may have contributed to the spate of bannings. ---

Ah, I see what you mean about the invasion in Great Debates but I had not encountered those threads until after I made my observation. Unless of course the SF invaders crossed over to the other forums. Somehow I suspect they kept their passion to their nationalism. ---

Wow. I wondered recently if **SqrlCub** was allowed back in under a new name with the understanding that it should be kept quiet, but I never expected it to be **dorkus**. Yeah, from what I can tell, most of the recent bannings are either SF people or socks outing themselves in some way. ---

Just a silly guess but I can imagine that there are huge numbers of socks out there. The mods do a pretty good job of cleaning up but wow Dorkus sure got in a lot of posts and would have gotten more if he didn’t “out” himself. Can anyone point to more socks comming out other than the pair at the last thread of dorkusmalorkusmafia at the OP? Or for that matter deliberate self destructive posts? Excluding of course the SF people mentioned above.
