Are nouns “illusory”?

I should have phrased it differently. I better phrasing might be ‘only Fundamentalists do, the majority of which are Evangelicals.’ meaning that very few non-Evangelicals disbelieve evolution. In mainlines, it’s about 15%, though no churches officially disbelieve evolution. It’s actually one of the quirkier facets of American religious belief that the ‘unaffiliated’ are actually more likely to disbelieve evolution than mainline Protestants, about 20% of unaffiliateds believe that humanity has always existed in its present form. Among Evangelicals, it’s about 64% that disbelieve evolution. Mainline Protestants are the least likely group in America to oppose evolution.

But that’s still incorrect. Most evangelicals do not disbelieve evolution, and even those who do tend to not consider it important enough to brand someone a heretic. And that is a crucial distinction. Evangelicals recognize that man’s understanding of spiritual things is often flawed, and that sincere, intelligent people can and do disagree on many issues.

Lovely.

Evangelicals in US - 64% disbelieve evolution. So… most Evangelicals DO disbelieve evolution. Their opinion on the heresy of the matter is out of the scope of this discussion.
