Are police killing non-compliant people more often than they used to or not?

That’s good enough. There’s a sir in every officer.

Possibly a cultural thing. My interactions with police officers would be polite but would be missing the sir/ma’am/officer. I don’t think I’d feel the need to call them anything unless I knew their name.

This. With the Internet, we have access to more reports, and many reports take on an urgency that might have warranted just a paragraph or two in the back pages of a newspaper back in the day, and that’s if the editor ever heard about it.
