# Are prisoners issued pajamas?

Are prisoners issued pajamas/nighties in prison? Just wondering?

I asked a fellow I know who works in a prison, and his answer was no, there is not a specific garment issued for the inmate to sleep in. Of course, inmate’s families can mail them clothing. According to my friend, inmates wear their “prison blues” pretty much only at required times, and the rest of the time, they wear civilian clothing. The “blues” that are issued to the inmate are thin cotton, and could concievably make comfortable pajamas.
