Are Republicans deliberately throwing the presidential election?

Are you sure McCain will still be alive and lucid in four more months? /obligatory

We can do it too: The only objective way you can justify a vote for McCain is because you want a Republican President and you don’t particularly care who it is. Seriously, though- have you ever looked at McCain and thought, “*This *is the best we could do?”

I must admit, though- a large part of the reason I want to vote for Obama is because he’s not a Republican. That’s because your team screwed it up so badly in the last two elections. Why the hell should we trust you when you say that this *time *you’ve got the right guy?

I’ve always prided myself on not being a Democrat or a Republican- I’ve always said that I’ll vote for the best guy, no matter what side he’s on. However, the last two terms of Republican rule have certainly gone a long way towards making me want to identify as a Democrat. And now they’ve presented us with the choice between Obama and McCain? Man, your guy’s not even in the running. The only thing keeping McCain alive at this point is the fact that the media doesn’t appear to want to take him to task for all of his flubs, gaffes, and politically-expedient flipflops.

McCain has a record and a biography. Is the best we can do a distinguished Senator and war hero who has been willing to buck his party on occasion?

I don’t know if that’s the BEST we can do, but I challenge you to come up with someone better using an actual objective standard based on a candidate’s record.
