Y’know what can cause hair loss? Anxiety.
Relax.
Y’know what can cause hair loss? Anxiety.
Relax.
I want to know if you have that evidence you promised.
You know, there are probably people who’d undergo a root canal if they never had to shave afterwards.
There’s a story making the rounds on morning TV about how salt causes autoimmune disease, so to be absolutely safe, get a root canal and don’t eat any french fries.
Hitler?
When I was in high school, my beard was rather sparse. Now that I’ve had several root canals, I have a full, thick beard. My anecdote beats your anecdote.
You’ve been answered repeatedly yet keeping asking the same questions. You included the question about autoimmune problems in the opening post and then with the 231st post to the thread you still asked the same question.
Lidocaine often is mixed with epinephrine (a vasoconstictor) to prolong the effect of local anesthesia. Hair loss is a real side-effect.
Both of those sites are nothing but anecdotal and look rather sketchy.
In your first cite ONE person reported hair loss. Your second cite doesn’t appear to have any real stats, but just shows one unhappy face out of five. I was amused at their mention of “man boobs” as a side effect (as opposed to gynecomastia). In any case, those cites relate to local anesthesia, not specifically to root canals which seem to be the OP’s fixation.
Well, I had a root canal, and I can tell you that I never have to shave my face! ![]()
root canals can cause depression…from all the tons of money spent on having them done, oh and also some type of amxiety disorder thinking about all the money they cost
I think they also cause you to keep on asking the same question over and over, until you get the answer you want.
I post neither to vote yay/nay, but to provide an additional source of information.
The above link is to an Arizona dentist who provides holistic dental care. A LARGE part of this guy’s practice is fixing the damage done by root canals. His dentist practice is thriving; folks come from all over the world to see him. You must wait about four months to get an appointment.
He is a bona fide US trained dentist.
Here is what I copied from his site about the danger of Root Canals:
Correcting Root Canals that are a cause of Illness
Infections can exist under the teeth and may be undetectable on X-Rays, especially in root canal treated teeth. Toxins leak out from infections and depress the normal functions of the immune system, leading to dis-ease. Toxins seeping out of root canals can cause systemic diseases of the heart, kidney, uterus and the nervous and endocrine systems. This may be due to the imperfect seal at the apex that allows bacteria to grow and undergo changes.
Causes of DiseaseIn biological dentistry, we stress the use of non-toxic restorative materials for dental work and focus on the unrecognized impact that dental toxins, dead teeth and hidden dental infections can have on the patient’s overall health. I believe tooth decay, periodontal disease, materials used in restorations, root canaled teeth and infected past extraction sites are all factors that may affect a patient’s health.
A condition in one part of a patient’s body may be the cause of a health issue located in another part of the patient’s body. This condition is called Focal Infection Theory. We see Focal Infection Theory when patients are suffering from chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, thyroid dysfunction, infertility, kidney dysfunction, breathing problems, cancer, digestive complications, joint pain and limited joint motion just to mention a few. This is not to say that the patient became ill as a result of their mouth problem(s) but that it may be a contributing factor.
Looks like we’ve got another one.
FWIW trained doesn’t equal honest.
Or competent. Or even sane. It’s a good starting point, but I’ve known my share of trained dolts and whackadoos.
He’s also a crackpot. Witness this, also from his website, in which he claims that problems with your second incisor cause issues with your testicles. Most of his nonsense appears to be based on the “mercury toxicity” scam.
I’m not surprised this dental dimwit buys into the root canal nonsense spouted so freely in this thread - another ruse to fleece the suckers.
forrest747, do you have any kind of business relationship with this DMDunce?
Regards,
Shodan
What? I can just barely reach my testicles with my second incisor. How am I gonna cause issues?
Its that final stretch that causes tearing -
I think you’d probably break your neck trying.
Uh-huh, you’re Just Asking Questions.
Two cardinal signs of a woo-ster in that paragraph - the first being the attribution of many different kinds of ills to unspecified “toxins”, the second, referring to “dis-ease”, a peculiar construct that is found on many woo sites but only suggests you are inordinately fond of hyphens.
The overriding goal here, as with scaremongering about amalgam fillings, is to convince the marks that their dental repairs are poisoning them and that they need “corrective” surgery. It’s unnecessary and causes needless pain and suffering for the patients, but hey, it makes lots of money for the alternative dentists (one wonders about these “non-toxic” amalgam substitutes such practitioners use - as discussed here before, non-mercury containing composites contain a raft of synthetic chemicals that sound a hell of a lot scarier than mercury).
And anyone that attempts to relate particular teeth to bodily organs using acupuncture meridians is a flaming ninny.
