Are Root Canals Really Toxic??

Trauma to the tooth is not inconsistent with having freakishly healthy teeth. I assume he means his teeth are freakishly free of cavities.

Well I’m just trying to nitpick, ok? So step off…

guys im back. I am suffering from a toothache like none other. I have not been able to focus and look up the data you require. I have spoken to a dentist who is against root canals. He says I cannot get a pulp cap because my tooth is too far gone. He can do a root canal though. He does not recommend a root canal but will do it.

At this point in my life I cannot lose another tooth. I need them to attract girls if nothing else.

But I am taking a risk. I know this as a fact. I truly believe some people can survive with a root canal and feel no ill effects. I am just praying I am one of these people. Once I get my tooth pain under control I will make another appearance and provide the links with proof.

No, you’re not, you know this as a belief.
Interesting the dentist believes he’s doing you harm but is willing to do so for money.

Well, color me shocked  that you’ve been unable to look up the data we require.

As far as girls go, well, if she isn’t interested in you just because you’re missing a few (a bunch) of teeth then she’s shallow and you’re better off without her anyway.

Yes Kimosabi, the risk is great. But so is God (and he’s also good. Be sure to thank him for your fuud.)

I tripped and slammed my front teeth into a concrete step. Damaged the root. It didn’t die right away. I had to get a root canal a few years later. It had nothing to do with the health of my teeth. Just one of those things. I was a clumsy kid.

Yeah, your right. I was just (failing at) nitpicking.

  1. So what did he recommend?

  2. Do you even know what a root canal is?

I recommend you see a dentist who recommends root canals to actually perform one. Maybe your guy just isn’t good at them.

It’s obvious that actual evidence isn’t going to convince you to rethink your convictions about root canals and the anecdotal evidence you specifically asked for isn’t going to sway your opinion, but I’ve had four of them myself with nothing but good outcomes. You need to have one done; try to accept that and quit allowing yourself to be scared by hokum you found on the internet. And find a decent dentist, why don’t you?

You’re assuming survival?

You’re assuming survival?
Good one.

You don’t know what a root canal is.
You don’t know what a root canal is.
You don’t know what a root canal is.
You don’t know what a root canal is.

Go down to a Public Library, get a book about it, & read it!

You are being victimized by a very shady character.

Every Root Canal I have had done was done by a specialist. I hesitate to let a general dentist practitioner do one. Its seems like lots of specialized work needing special dental tools.

Since I had the first of several root canals, about 55 years ago, I have:

  • had a heart attack
  • broken an ankle
  • developed atrial fib
  • needed a pacemaker
  • developed diabetes
  • developed high blood pressure
  • gotten an infected toenail
  • become bald

What more proof do you need?

So this is all really just you suffering dental pain, but fearful of dental procedure you clearly cannot understand?
Your belief that this procedure is toxic and harmful is trumped by not wanting to lose another tooth? :dubious: Because then you won’t be able to attract girls? :dubious:Your dentist believes the same but is still willing to do the procedure to his patient?:dubious:
Yeah, right, just like you’re going to return soon with real evidence for what you claim!:dubious:

None of it even passes the sniff test. Sorry, I was born at night, but it wasn’t last night. If you’re not even going to try to make your nonsense believable, it loses all entertainment value, I think.

(Keep trying, maybe you’ll get the hang of it some day!)

Most root canals are done by general dentists not endodontists. It isn’t really that specialized. Some dentists don’t do them for a variety of reasons and some will do the easy ones but not the hard ones. I do most of my own but do find some that I want a specialist to do.

Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Can’t speak for everyone, but I’m just feverish with anticipation to see those links documenting that heart disease, cancer, autoimmune disorders, multiple chemical sensitivity, liver parasites, Morgellons disease, blackheads and attraction to conspiracy theories all arise from having had root canals.

Please, no anonymous anecdotes or unsubstantiated claims. And try not to confuse “proof” with “evidence”.

interesting that someome who is missing several teeth thinks an accepted dental practice is woo.

Don’t forget the heartbreak of psoriasis, and be sure to let us know once coreopsis has set in.
