Please read some real news, and possibly also read the entirely fucked-up California state constitution before you start jacking off blaming the Democrats and liberal regimes.
You sir are a fucking idiot. Now go back to whacking off to “The Overton Window.”
Your conclusion is demonstrably wrong. Go fuck yourself for making me check.
bullrun, the Tennessee Legislature has been controlled by Republicans for as long as I can remember.
We are in deep financial trouble, due to a poorly-planned tax structure, ideological inflexibility, corruption, & bad management.
Further, pay is so low, that most State Employees are 55-70 years of age, & they are staying for the pension & health insurance. And the State is cutting back on insurance.
Our schools are terrible, & our State’s future is bleak.
Thank goodness you’re here, Captain Obvious. Yes, he is a dolt. California’s troubles are due to the myriad of half witted referendums that amended its constitution to require a super-duper majority to approve any tax increase of any kind. You have enough Republican legislators who have vowed never to approve of any tax increase so it has become impossible. With the downturn in the economy, there is no way to cut fat from state budgets, you must cut meat and bone.

If you notice…the states that are led by Democrats and have been ruled by the demos for years are in the worst shape. California…even though they have “AHHH-nold” as their RINO governor…the legislature is demo has been for years.
Usually demo run states have the highest taxes,…the most minorities and minority led instituions, and cater to illegals more than other states.
The more liberal the state regime…the more in debt they usually are.
I’ll be sure to let the Republican Florida legislature know that their $3 billion budget shortfall is okay, because they’re actually Democrats.

Your conclusion is demonstrably wrong. Go fuck yourself for making me check.
Dan, telling another poster to go fuck himself is against the rules. Please refrain from using sexual insults against other posters in the future.
No warning issued.
Well take the case of Massachusetts-despite warnings about the economy, the state legislature keeps increasing the budget-the last one was over $28 billion-an amount about twice the budget of PA-a state 10 times the size of MA.
Despite the downturn, the state keeps hiring (friends and relatives of politicians). Do any state departments advocate something sensible (say, a 5% cut across the board)? Not on your life! (We can still borrow and float bonds).
However, reality has a way of catching up-MA is now one of the MOST indebted states-over $20 billion in long-term debt (for a state of 6 million people).
But who cares? We can still borrow from China, so it must be all right!
I hope to be out of this disaster when the bills come due.
And, the state just voted to restore the pension of disgraced speaker of the house (Sal DiMasi)-he is now on trial for bribery and extortion.
So, crime pays 9if you are a MA democrat politician).

Massachusetts has one fourth the land area and half the population of Pennsylvania. In what sense is PA “10 times the size” of MA?

A lot of California’s problems can be blamed on bipartisan referendums, which both makes it hard for the state to raise taxes and lower spending. The referendums also tend to approve any bond issues. These things put together make California budgeting hard. California does have some pretty high tax rates anyway, though, with the highest state sales tax (8.25% base) and high income and corporate tax rates.
The solution to California’s problems is simple: kick at least 35% of the people out of the state. Make at least 85% of these ejectees city-dwellers. Then nuke Sacramento.
