# Are suspects seatbelted in the back of cop cars?

In lots of jurisdictions, that attitude could get you placed in the back of a car without a seat belt on for a brisk 5 minute drive to the station house. 😉

Many cars have that single smooth molded back seat. No belts. Nothing sharp. No padding. For a huge variety of safety and hygiene reasons, they are the back seat of choice.
