That’s where the OP was born. We don’t know exactly when the move happened.

Or, indeed, how many moves there were, and if they were rhythmic.

> It’s going to be more difficult to find someone “who is not extremely concerned about acing a ‘sex life’,” but, yes, there are such people in the world.

Unless you get lucky and find that someone. Alternatively, you can participate in The Voluntary Human Extinction Movement and, even though you may not have your own biological children, it may be an altruistic effort to adopt some orphans and give them a home and future. However, being a single, adoptive parent may require some work, but it is not impossible. If such a single, adoptive parent is a woman, then she may be free from the burdens of pregnancy, maternity leave, and childrearing, which may take years out of the workforce and make the woman’s professional career come to a halt. In _Anne of Green Gables_, Anne was adopted, because her adoptive parents thought she was a boy, and she was of the age at which she was neither too young nor too old.

Does this movement forswear sex too, like the Shakers?

[Read the movement’s article about sex.](http://vhemt.org/biobreed.htm#sex)

It seems that the movement does imply that, since sexual intercourse does lead to babies, regardless of whether the babies are “unwanted” or “wanted”. The movement seems to suggest that, if humans have found alternative ways of sexual gratification, then sexual intercourse would probably not be needed. There is some support for this too, because there have been studies that suggest that some women can have orgasms by exercising and working out. I have to look into it some more, though, to find out what kind of “exercise” they mean. The author(s) of the VHEMT group is/are wrong about this:
Try it for yourself. Estimate how many times you’ve engaged in sexual activity in your lifetime. Now estimate how many times you were trying to make a baby. Divide the little number by the big number to give you the percent of times sex and procreation have simultaneously motivated you.
If a person has never engaged in sexual activity and has never tried for a baby, then that’s 0/0. And you cannot divide by zero.

You are reading this utterly incorrectly, if you’re reading that this group is endorsing chastity. Quite the opposite – they point out how rarely sex results in pregnancy, even without contraception, but especially with it.

And they go on to say say they favor the availability of safe and legal abortion.

There is no question at all that this is an implicit endorsement of sex, even though it occasionally, and in their view unfortunately, results in pregnancy.

I think I read it too quickly the first time, but looking at it over again, you’re right.

The word “chaste” is a loaded term, because it involves making a value judgment based on sexual experience. It assumes that a person does not have sex, because he or she wishes to deny himself or herself of sexual pleasure outside of marriage. This self-denial is seen as virtuous behavior. However, it fails to consider other reasons why a person has not had sex or circumstances that prevent a person from having sex. One situation is that a person may be “involuntarily celibate”, which means being locked into a situation where such a person desires sex but for some reason can’t have it. Another situation may be that a person becomes aware of all the problems associated with sex (STDs, unwanted pregnancies, non-environmentally-friendly birth control, etc.) and becomes so afraid that he or she figures that it may be best to just not do it, except in certain special situations such as making babies in marriage.

There are many different kinds of contraceptives, as shown [here](http://www.popsci.com/blog-network/ladybits/your-guide-eco-friendly-birth-control). As mentioned on that page, I find that a green consumer would probably have to make a choice based on willingness to take on a bit of personal discomfort and inconvenience and “greenness”. If a consumer is really desperate and “needs sex”, but does not want to go through any personal discomfort or inconvenience, then he or she may choose whatever is convenient over what would be beneficial for the environment, such as using birth control pills and condoms.

There are only 3 reasons why people choose not to have sex:

1. Fear. They fear some form of divine repercussions due to religious beliefs. They fear STDs. They fear pregnancy. They fear intimacy with another person. They fear disapproval from their parents or others in their social circle. They had some bad prior experiences and fear a repeat of them. Or some combination of these and probably a few others I’ve failed to think of.
2. Physical issues which make sex impossible or painful, or simply of no interest (perhaps related to their body chemistry).
3. Some kind of adopted philosophy that makes them reject sex.

If I had to guess, 95% or more of not sexually active adults are in the first category. And a good chunk of the people in the 3rd category are really in the first, but are also in denial.

I have never heard of any individual who chose a birth control by considering “greenness”. I have never even heard of the concept, and I imagine the number who do so is vanishingly small.

Immediate ejaculation has happened to me, without being stoned. I was just really, really _ready._ It’s also possible, with enough concentration, to have an orgasm without being touched.

I hate back reading except I had to understand what he meant by multiple penetration. I think he means multipli thrust during a single episode of insertion. Well, it’s a male construct mostly. One deep thrust is quite pleasurable but one isn’t enough to cause ejaculation and orgasm. You do it till you come. An uneducated virgin should easily pick up the rhythm of it during his first time. It’s also a natural shift from the commom method of mastuebation by males. That too can be learned or discovered.

What do you mean by this and what is your evidence for it?

I believe that it’s fairly clear that thrusting is pleasurable to women as well.

Agreed, though I think 2 often leads to 3. Particularly since most people think they’re typical (at least, I do).
