A Luddite just practices a very extreme form of conservatism. Not in the “right wing” sense, but in the sense of resistance to societal change.

Some European hate speech laws do just this.

One the conservatives got right: the Cold War.

I think a lot of liberals were too trusting of the Soviet Union. They were arguing for an equivalency that didn’t exist.

You’re thinking of leftists or socialist types. Liberals were Cold War hawks. They supported the Vietnam War and loathed the hippies and anti-war movement.
