Note that chromium can be, uh, bad for you. No cite, but wanted to temper the suggestion to take it with a word of caution. Chromium Picolinate, specifically. Read up on it first. ---

My ex takes a drug, the name escapes me, and it’s probably different in this country to over there… basically it works by suppressing the urge to eat. She lost about 30kg, and is continuing to lose more. ---

[“Mexican Fat Burners”](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=70511&highlight=mexican+burners) anyone? I really liked Redux, too bad it caused some people to get leaky heart valves. Bottom line is that a large number of people who loose weight using pills regain that weight after they stop taking the pills. I can’t find a quick cite for this, but it was in the instructions that came with the Redux. I know when my Redux was taken away I gained back all my weight, and then some.
