# Are there any numbers for how many Christians consider Catholics non-Christian?

[As I alluded to here](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?p=14825976#post14825976), in times past a number of Protestants reckoned that there were two main religions that used the Cross: Christians, like them, and Catholics, who were them as followed the Pope in Rome. That goes back a ways, to be sure.

These days, how common is that view? Does anyone bother to do studies of things like this?
