# Are there any other sounds as awesome as the THX sound?

I don’t care for the THX sound. I liked the spoof in Tiny Toons Adventure: a horrible long wailing blasting screech, followed by the slogan, “The Audience Is Now Deaf.”

I love the calliope!

I’m also very fond of the sound of a singer doing a duet with himself/herself, using overdubbing. It’s really nifty, and kind of eerie.

And I can’t be the only one here who remembers “Susan Swivelhips” and “BOING!”

The opening to Billy Joel’s\* Miami 2017\* sounds [suspiciously similar](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v75ZQakN4M4), and he wrote it in 1976. Not to mention the ending to the Beatles’ _A Day in the Life_, of course.

“Deep Note” didn’t come along until [1983](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deep_Note).
