I love fried chicken, watermelon, the blues, conservative fedoras, and women with hair the wind can blow around. So yes, I fit all sorts of old black man stereotypes. I’m \*not \*an old black man, but that wasn’t the question. ---

GIS programmer that just got off his tractor to move snow for the plow truck. Making snow storage really. I live in one of the most pristine areas in the world for skiing, but hate downhill skiing. Get enough snow every day at the house thank you very much. No need to go in search of it. And get run over by bad skiers. Love where I live though. Programmer, that knows more about his tractor than his computer (well sort of). My hobby is trying to learn the banjo. Don’t think I’ve got a label. ---

Now I’m her husband. My missus doesn’t fit many of these stereotypes, though, except the one about being career-oriented. And that one, boy-howdy does she fit it! (She doesn’t look down on people who aren’t though.) She also has gorgeous hair, but she likes it a little shorter. ---

There is a big chance that anyone who specifically moved here will be asked if they ski or snowboard. Also, the snow has been extremely weak this year. I have a beard. And when not wearing contacts I have dark-rimmed glasses. So I don’t know if pointing out that I am not a hipster by saying I did this _before it was cool_ actually makes me 360 into a hipster :D. I like some “hipster” music but I am too out of it to keep up with trends in music. ---

I’m a very non flamboyant gay man with no interest in Madonna, Musicals or Fashion. I do however have a ‘flair’ for color and love to decorate. But I also love to rip out walls, do electrical work, have a workshop that rivals or exceeds anyone (except maybe my dad and my husband’s father). I like big sloppy dogs and have had many in my day, but now I’m the proud Dogdad of a fluffy white Shih-tzu whom, if I could, I’d carry in a dog-purse of some sort. I am a sucker for Hallmark Christmas movies, but pretty insensitive to romance in my own life. I’m a firm believing Christian, which theoretically, I should not be, as there are so many issues with that. My wedding was very low-key (more Mitchell than Cameron) but I had a full choir, multiple musicians and played the organ for my own Communion Hymn and there was incense…lots and lots of incense. I’m a contradiction of the gay model and I love it!! But my dislike of most gay subculture in no way means that I’m ashamed of my sexuality and I’ll defend myself and my group’s rights whenever necessary ---

Well I’m a librarian, and when I let my hair fall loose from its tight bun and I whip off my thick glasses… actually I’m mostly bald, and male, and I **never** take off my glasses because I can’t see a damn thing without them. I am rather detail oriented and I **really** like things organized, so in that way I am something of a stereotype. I’m also bookish, intellectual, prefer to work indoors, and curious about everything. Sounding more stereotypical all the time. ---

I’m confused. I drive a Subaru, really like women, wear plaid shirts - I am not a lesbian. I love and grow plants, love and have performed in musicals, yet I am not gay. I fully support equal pay and marriage for all, yet I am neither a female nor a member of the GL population. I have lots of female friends without trying to bed them, and yet I am a heterosexual male. I am old, and have become more liberal as time goes by, and cook sometimes and clean sometimes and so forth… What is wrong with me??? (OK, I am bald, fat, hairy, and still like to watch football and drink beer and check out the ladies - ya caught me.) ---
