Are there any TV shows that could last 100 years?

Figures. Spent 10 minutes researching that, and I made errors in phrasing and in math.

The 2ZY Orchestra, via several name changes becoming the BBC Philharmonic, beats that by one year.

OK, I should have admitted that that was a rather weak claim, if we’re after continuity.

However, back on the OP’s path, Coronation Street is Britain’s longest-running TV soap (since 1960) and still bloody popular.

Good point. If you include radio, it would add a few years onto the age of Meet the Press, as I believe it started on radio as well.

It WILL be The Price is Right, thereby proving my theory that Bob Barker immediately retires to a cryogenic chamber after each show and that he is comprised entirely of parts from lesser game show hosts.

Hmmm…

Doctor Who and Star Trek, presumably.

Interestingly, given mrrealtime’s (entirely plausible) speculations on the future of TV, both franchises have spawned numerous fan-produced continuations/expansions. If “You Tube” is the model for future entertainment provision, I doubt that either show could ever die.

THE TWILIGHT ZONE
Rod Serling was a genius. The show drew from classic short stories and is still in syndication after fifty years. I see no reason why people a hundred years from now won’t come across Beaumont and Bradbury in short story collections and not want to see the teleplays.
