Are there other cultures that don't get hung up on punctuality for work?

There’s “Jewish time”, but it applies mainly to synagogue attendance. Surprisingly, it’s the Orthodox that are the greatest adherents of Jewish time, while Reform Jews tend to be more punctual.

I had an old friend who served in World War II in Africa. He said Moroccans replied with the Arabic expression inshalla, (If God wills) when asked when anything might be accomplished. He explained what it really meant by referring to the Spanish mañana.

“It sort of like mañana, but without that sense of urgency.”
