At the risk of offending all people who wear briefs, I am particularly intrigued by whether there is the same sense of suspicion for people who wear boxers by those who wear briefs as there is the other way round. It’s a little difficult to justify the premise of this question. However, over the course of my life I have met many people (both men and women) who think that there is something slightly ‘strange’ about people who wear brief style underwear/trunks (particularly the brief style trunks.) I am one of these people. I’m sorry to say it but I do judge people as ‘one of them’ if I come to know that they wear briefs. Do people who wear briefs have the same (slightly) negative disposition towards those who wear boxers? What is the justification for this? Perhaps this should be in IMHO or even GD. If so, mods please move and apologies. It’s certainly a subject that has perplexed me for a long time. ---

I find them “creepy.” They creep up here, down there, around over yonder. Other than that, no big deal unless you need something more protective. ---

Sorry to not have an answer for you, but I must ask something. How do you come to this feeling that “there is something slightly ‘strange’ about people who wear brief style underwear”? Seriously. This doesnt make any sense to me. ---

I think people who worry about what kind of underwear other people wear and whether those other people have critical opinions about _other_ other people’s underwear choices are really weird and need to be slapped. That said; Hey, **quicken78**! STOP THINKING ABOUT \*\*MY UNDERWEAR \*\*! ---

I’m with you, **collinssc**. I’ve never given any thought to the type of underwear other guys prefer, and I can’t imagine using it as a guage of their character. And I have **never, ever** engaged other guys in a speculative conversation about another guy’s underwear. It’s just not the type of thing that comes up in normal conversation, ya know? That said, I prefer boxers. What does that say about me? What does it say about me that I wear them on my **head**? ---

I think it’s the same kind of thing with bathing suits. There are the “Speedo” type, and the “Trunks” type. Then there are the “Body-Dysmorphic-Trunks-Type-Who-THINK-They-Are-The-Speedo-Type” I personally believe Speedos belong on Olympic competitors, period. I just want to know which brand of briefs nowadays will last more than a few wearings without the damn elastic band tearing, or other seems ripping ☹ (I use Haynes and FTL, and yes the large sizes since I’m a big guy, but the quality ain’t there anymore - it’s one thing to outsource underwear production to China, it’s quite another to use peasants workers right off the rice paddy without training them) :mad: ---

I think boxers are creepy. This is probably TMI, but here goes… My ex husband would sit on the couch and watch TV in just a pair of boxers and a ripped t-shirt. He had very large balls. They ooozzed out one leg of the boxers. That is the only way to describe it. One of these days I will be able to remove that memory from my brain. Please god. But until then boxers are associated with that memory. I like boxer-briefs on men, personally. quite sexy. ---

I hate to admit it, but I think there’s something wrong with adults who wear briefs. My brothers taught me that kids wear briefs, and when you enter puberty, you start wearing boxers. So, in the back of my mind, I think that adults who wear briefs have something wrong. What’s wrong, I don’t exactly know. It just ain’t right. ---

My husband wears the tighty-whities. When I first found that out, I couldn’t help but remember my little brother as a skinny 4 or 5 year old in his little briefs. BUT, it doesn’t bother me at all now. haha I guess I associated boxers with a more mature guy. And now I don’t really see that as the case anymore. I asked hubby why he didn’t wear boxers, and he told me that it was like wearing a pair of swimming trunks, or shorts under his jeans, and he just thinks it’s uncomfortable. Also, he was a wrestler and maybe that has something to do with it. I wouldn’t think you’d be able to wear boxers under the singlet. ---

I wear boxers (only for the last 10 years, or so), briefs or nothing. Boxers, mostly (I really like the free feeling); briefs when I wear shorts (I personally don’t think it is ‘cool’ to let your boxers hang out the bottom of the shorts); nothing when I have no clean underwear (:D). Boxer briefs just look very uncomfortable although I have never tried them. I never considered that one is better than the other, or that a guy may be strange for wearing on or the other.
