# Are There Sects of Islam OK with Drinking Alcohol?

Yes in 1979 and replaced by laws which are in force today.

Would they by any chance be these laws?

Which seems to state that Alcohol is illegal for muslims in Pakistan and the penalty can include a whipping of 30 stripes for possession.
