Can’t find any current mention of the one at Windsor (near Sydney, Australia) but there is still one independent going in Melbourne, hanging on by its fingertips.
New Hampshirite here. Here is an article from 2012 about one of the last video rental stores in the state. It is definitely closed now.
I rode by a couple of days ago, yep it’s still open.
I’ve been traveling around lately and I’ve found two more to add to the list of still open video rental stores:
Shenandoah Video & Tan in Woodstock, Virginia. In addition to operating a video store and tanning salon, this guy is also operating a Radio Shack. A place to go if you’re looking for 1999 flashbacks.
BCS Books & Comics in Bryan, Texas. A combination used bookstore, comic book shop, board game store, and video rental.
Traveling around this week and visited Videodrome in Atlanta, Georgia. A very nice video store with a great collection of unusual titles.
I was touring my neighborhood via google maps and found a video rental place a few blocks away. They specialize in Polish language rentals which makes sense in my Northwest side neighborhood of Chicago.
Little Rock still has several video rentals. RAO is downtown and a very old store. I rented vhs there in the late 80’s and early 90’s. They rent mainstream and adult tapes. Also rent games.
Movie Gallery is in the suburbs - in Maumelle.
Ten years ago I could have listed a dozen places. They’re just about extinct.
