# Are there such things as assertiveness training courses?

I mean, ones that a college kid could afford. Is there some sort of, I don’t know, seminar you could take that teaches people how to look other people in the eye and talk to them?

I typed “assertiveness training” in Yahoo! search and got over 64000 hits. Some of them probably fill your need. Surely you have checked for extension courses as the University of Wisconsin.
