Well, if the title I just typed shows up as I planned, that will answer the _technical_ part of my question (BTW, ΠΙ, Kolędy, and ﻱ are the Greek word for “Pi”, the Polish word for Christmas carols [hey, it’s all I could think of at this moment] and the Arabic letter _Yeh_ by itself, thrown in for good measure). I have never seen foreign letters used in thread titles **ever** , so though the question may seem odd to some, I have actually wondered about this.

The next question, I guess, would be whether it is **allowed** (though I would guess it is allowed as long as you don’t post something no one understands, thus peaking the moderators suspicions you might have posted something obscene or otherwise forbidden).

Unicode evidently seems **not** to work in titles. **Works** for most people in the **body** of the post (I did [a thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=225332) on that a while back).

Since it **doesn’t** seem to work in titles, I think that whether or not it is allowed is moot… (whew, saved from accusation of Junior Modding :D)

So while unicode doesn’t work, extended ASCII seems to.
