No one beats cancer. Some people are just luckier than others.

Renal Cell Carcinoma - Radical Left Nephrectomy about 5 years ago.

I had Diverticulitis at the time and had gone for a CAT scan. The doctor told me I had a more pressing issue: Kidney Cancer.

So, they removed my left kidney, then 3 months later I had surgery for the diverticulitis - Bowel resection.

Been fine ever since.

People always talk about fighting cancer or being a survivor. I don’t feel like I fought anything or survived anthing. No chemo…no drugs…just an operation to remove my kidney. I’m happy that it went that way rather than a long drawn out fight.

I consider myself very lucky.
