DrF: Sure, easy for you. But for a math klutz like me? Get a length of rope. Go to the roof. Tie one end of the rope to the barometer and play out the rope until the barometer touches the ground. Measure the length of the rope plus the barometer and you’re done. * * * If you’re hot, that’s good. If you’re cool, that’s good. I don’t get it. ---

There’s a site that points out all of Marilyn Vos savant’s errors. It’s irritating and funny at times.Easy enough to find. Problems like there’s three pairs of shoes in the closet. How many shoes will you need to take out to find a pair, without looking. ---

Suppose you’re looking at an analog clock. You notice the three hands coincide exactly at 12:00. Is this condition of the clock hands possible at any other position on the clock dial? ---

Wise guy. Say I took a bullet in my leg the last minute before the truce was signed. Can this condition be corrected?
