I think it helps a poll a lot, especially an informal one, if the person who starts it declares what they are trying to figure out, right at the top. The world has become too infested by snarky or sneaky people who ask simple-sounding “poll” questions as a set up to “prove” something that the poll question as asked, doesn’t apply to. That’s why I don’t answer them any more. I got really tired of the “AHA! GOTCHA!!!” games that seem to follow ineveitably. ---

By the by, according to my driver’s licence, I am male. However genetically, I am only half male, since one of my parents was a female. ---

This poll could have avoided PC commentaries, by just asking “Which hand do you flush the toilet with?” Nearly all males would say Left, and females Right. Readers could then draw their own conclusion about the gender ratio of the respondents. ---
