The rotary mile high club is considerably more exclusive - because helicopters do not routinely have any good reason to fly a mile above ground level, because there’s usually little privacy from the crew, and because if you’re flying it yourself it generally requires a lot more attention than fixed wing. Again, as stated by the OP - sitting in the hangar in Denver doesn’t count. It’s a mile above _ground_ level, not sea level. So this would be an impressive achievement - any members on here? I’d have to guess most likely somebody in a large military transport heli, if anything? ---

We did it in the refueling seat of a KC-135 right after fueling up a B-52D. A bunch of us were being transported to Guam, and she wanted to know if I’d like to watch the procedure. The ships docked. The ships undocked. We followed suit. ---

I have, a couple of times; even made a video that I loaded to Vimeo of one of them. Sadly, in a balloon, the mile high club is just higher than 5280’ & does not include the downward travel of zippers. ---

Never mind Denver. People don’t realize Albuquerque is on a slope and 4900-6700 feet, depending on where in the city you are. Santa Fe is 7200 feet.
