There’s a dating service in the San Francisco Bay Area called “The Mile-High Club.” They arrange fun, social co-ed get togethers where they do things like climb mountains and bungee jump. Only problem is, to fill the stables with enough mares, so to speak, they let women join for free even though men have to pay a couple thousand dollars a year to join. And with regards to the OP: I was doing a cross-country flight in a Cessna 172 with a girlfriend once. We were cruising at 5500 feet, which is just a little bit more than a mile high. I offered to let her join the Mile High Club, but, darn it, she was afraid the plane might go out of control and crash if I don’t tend to the control yoke. Sheesh, some people are just _so_ skittish. 😉 ---

You have to be 5,280 ft **AGL** (Above Ground Level) for it to count or Denver pilots could fool around on the ramp. As to the OP, are you going by the original rules (one of the participants has to be the pilot or co-pilot) or the newer rules (anyplace 1 mile above the ground). Maybe there should be first class members (pilots) and second class members (airline passengers, etc.) I just received my Private Pilot certificate in Sept 2000 but I haven’t had the chance to make full use of it yet. 😃 ---

I’m a member of the Mile-High-Club. 1979 New York to London. That was back before they gave you a fine if they caught you. The pilot gave us a set of wings 🙂 ---

One of many ‘fondest’ memories. During one of the great gatherings of lighter than aircraft in New Mexico, USA, in a gondola designed for several more than two, but with only two, a classic dame of the first order offered that we might pluck our mutually altitude deprived cherries at around 9,000 feet. Oh, how I have tried. God knows I have. I try to convince the wife its safer to do that then to get a blowjob in a car…but she isn’t turned on by that fear of getting caught. Oh well, I am sure we have many more flights left so that I can try to persude her. ---
