I have unilaterally decided to relax the membership criteria, as follows: Rule 7. Membership is now open to those who _have_ been mentioned on the other thread if the poster concerned: a) did not solicit popularity and, in fact, resents being popular, or b) considers their nomination as _A Poster You’d Like To Get To Know Better_ lacks sufficient enthusiasm from their proposer in that thread, or c) was not specifically mentioned as a prospect for a future ‘getting to know session’ but merely referred to in passing, or c) was mentioned in a ‘block reference’ _i.e._ the proposer mentioned about 30 other posters he/she would would like to get to know better. Further rule changes will be announced ‘on the fly’. ---

Nobody knows me, nobody wants to. Y’all who don’t like me, y’all be sucka fooz, sucka fooz, sucka sucka sucka fooz. By the time I come into a thread, all the good jokes are made. I make the mediocre ones that are overlooked. I don’t like to argue or assert myself. Even if a subject I do know about comes up, I’m reluctant to post information in case it turns out to be wrong. And furthermore, while I like my screen name, it doesn’t exactly scream “REMEMBER THIS SCREEN NAME, YOU’LL BE TYPING IT IN CAPS LATER!” I should have been named something like Stinky BandAid or Hamster Linguine or something. (Mods/admins/whoever can do this, please don’t take that as a request to change my name to Stinky BandAid or Hamster Linguine. :)) One day, someone will discover me for the gem that I am! _snicker_. Like I said in the other thread I’m impossible to get to know anyway due to my lack of answering messages, so it’s really OK in the end. ---

I don’t hang around much in MPSIMS, IMHO or The Pit (or Cafe Society…or GD…or even GQ, really; heck, I just don’t post anywhere all that often), so few posters on the lower half of the board probably even have heard of me. And those that _have_ heard of me likely don’t find me terribly interesting. Can’t say I blame them, really. I know me pretty well, and I bore myself to tears on many an occassion. And the answers to the 3 questions posited in the OP are “no”, “no”, and “no”. ---

There’s one person I considered posting about in that other evil thread, so it would be nice if that person was interested in getting to know me. If anyone remembers me, it’s likely as the person with an Indian name who’s not an Indian, and by some weird twist of fate - after having chosen said name - met and became engaged to an Indian and is getting married in 26 days. And despite the lack of help in the “Help me propose in Marathi” thread (which I appreciate anyway), I did ask her to marry me in Marathi. Or marry a chicken. I’m still not sure. YMMV. ---

I would like to suggest a rule addition. The rule would be that if a member of the Unpopular Dopers is mentioned in _that other thread_…but it is an obvious pity mention that they be allowed to retain their membership in UP. This is somewhat related to your other rule changes, but I feel the above wording is worthy of being a rule in itself. ---
