It sucks that we’re in the 330. I think we used to be in the 216, which is Cleveland. Even though calls to our particular area are free from 216 people think we’re all out in Akron and long distance because of the area code. We’re only 18 miles from Cleveland! ---

I was somewhat attached to our old area code. That’s because we still have the same phone number that we did back when Kennedy was shot; only the area code is different now. But I’m pretty much over it by this time. ---

Of course I am. I used to be 212. Which everybody knows is the coolest area code anywhere. area code anywhere. And god willing ,or if my deal with the devil goes through I will be again (oh yes I will, my paramour’s # is 212.) My mom’s is 609 which of course has fond childhood memories attached. ---

I remember the trauma of having 617 ripped from me in my youth. Now my cell is 617, but my home phone is 781. At least I’m not stuck in 978, those people are just losers. 😉 **betenoir** , I weep for your loss of 212. Seriously. ---

I liked the 305 I grew up with in south Florida, but now i’m a 702 kinda guy. And since I just switched my old home phone # to a cel phone #, now I reckon I’ll be a 702 man for the rest of my life, no matter where I live. ---

I hate my area code. I never lived there. I got the number intentionally thinking I was about to move but got a job in yet another code and never changed. For years people have had to dial 10 digits to reach me, and in the case of mother with her old land line, she has to pay a small toll charge even though she’s really in local calling distance. ---

I’m in the 802, which is the ENTIRE state of Vermont. Just curious and lazy, which other states have only one area code? Also, I think that all towns here have only one prefix, the first three numbers. So I’m in the 802-885. I think that will be my next license plate, since “Springfield Vermont” won’t fit. ---

Area codes are kinda big in SoCal. To the point that you can ask someone where they are, and they’ll respond “in the 818”. ---

I honestly couldn’t give a damn what area code I have. I don’t care about other people’s area codes either, once it gets programmed into my cell phone I don’t even look at their number. ---

My house has had the same phone number since my parents bought it in 1957, except that our 216 was \*\*wrenched \*\*from us in the dirty area code steal. Another Chicagoan here (well, suburbs now). I really liked it when the entire area was 312. I think they really screwed up when they did not assign the new codes to cellphones and other portable devices. ---
