Sliced by culturally Christian parents (well, actually the OB/GYN who delivered me, but you get the idea) for no better reason than “it’s what we do to baby boys.” Born in 1970. None of my partners has ever complained. 😉 ---

Circumcised male, born in 1960. My father was uncircumcised, and he had my brother and myself done. We spent summers at a nudist camp when I was a kid, so it was pretty obvious. He explained that it would be easier to keep clean. I’ve never had a problem with his decision. My wife has told me that she appreciates that I’m circumcised, although she has never been with a uncircumcised man. I remember reading an article by a pregnant woman polling her friends on whether or not to have her son circumcised. One of her friends was very strongly of the opinion that she should, that “he’ll hate you forever if you’re the reason he never gets a blowjob.” ---

I was pretty much on the fence about the issue until I stood outside the door while my grandson was being circumcised. Imagine taking a newborn’s hand, then crushing it with a pair of pliers. Now imagine the shrill scream that newborn will probably make. That’s what I heard outside the door. It still haunts me a little. ETA: 53, circumcised. ---

No, we were grateful! ---

If I had been a real man, I guess I would have just busted in and decked the doctor. ---

I am, but my adopted son isn’t. We had discussed whether or not to do so and eventually agreed that we would leave him au natural while giving him the instructions on keeping all his bits and folds clean that his father doesn’t need to worry about. ---

I’m cut, although I suspect that when I’m king of the world and I have a swimming pool full of seductive penis-washing staff I will regret my parent’s choice. Actually, it was for medical reasons; routine circumcision has never been _en vogue_ in the the UK. ---

I’m not but my son is. The wife demanded it and it didn’t seem like a big deal at the time but it created some confusion for El Nenito. ---

Of course, there might’ve been some unmentioned anesthetic, but then, maybe he’s just that badass. 😃 ---

Was going to start a similar poll myself, but figured at least I’d check to see if there was one open. This isn’t too old, so figured I’d jump in. I was struct by the curiosity that, from what little I know about other penii (yes, I’m being pretentious and more than likely incorrect), it seems that, here in Canada at least, those born before 1980 are snipped (like my dad and myself) and those after are not (llike my cousin). When we had a son five years ago, I figured I’d ask a few people on whether to get him circumcised or not. Most people that I tlaked to said “not” (why bother? serves no purpose), except for, curiously, everyone at my church (a Christian church, somewhat conservative and a little right-wing) who said to get him snipped. I took all things to heart, and decided to get him circumcised for the pure and simple reason that I am and I figured it would be easier to teach him penile care if I have similar experiences. However, our son had lots of medical problems in hospital (was born with [Pierre Robin Sequence](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pierre_Robin_Sequence) and spent the first seven months of his life in hospital (for the record he’s pretty much a normal 5 year old now, you can barely tell there was anything wrong with him)) and circumcision became the least of our worries. I didn’t think of bringing it up with the doctors, it was simply forgotten due to all the other stuff we had to worry about, and when things did settle down and I thought about it again, I figured it was too late to get it done.
