# Are you donating to the Haitian Relief Funds?

I see a lot of donations going to [www.yele.org](http://www.yele.org) and I am a little bit concerned. It was founded by Wyclef Jean in 2005 and he strikes me as a great guy and a great ambassador for Haiti. The problem is that Charity Navigator doesn’t list them and I have some doubts about the efficiency of a celebrity run organization.

This story from the Post this morning also raises concerns, not about theft or anything, but about what use the funds are being put to.

Four pairs of shoes donated to Sports Chalet (57% of my shoe supply). It’s little enough but I simply don’t have access to cash right now. Thanks to those who CAN donate cash and are doing so.

I texted through Verizon to Red Cross, prompted to finally actually do it when I heard Verizon was paying the donations up front instead of waiting for the customers’ billing cycles to cover the pledges.
