Since I had my first and only child at age 43 in 2008, I have found that my emotions are overflowing pretty much on a daily basis.

I really can cry at the drop of a hat. Any stories I run across that have to do with a child being abused or hurt I simply cannot. handle. and will burst into tears. Same with any animals being hurt or abused. Blubbering idiot if I see or read something like that. Conversely, seeing kids do cute things or just watching them play and laugh causes me to cry from joyfulness sometimes, too.

And I’m also a big sports fan…stories of triumph or stories of harship in sports will also make me very emotional. I am not even a very big Saints fan but when they won the SuperBowl I was in tears every time Drew Brees and his little boy were on TV. Such an inspirational story.

For me, I think going through being pregnant and childbirth combined with being older and more sure of myself has caused me to be more openly emotional. I kind of like it. I feel more in touch with the world. Hard to explain, really.
