I have been somewhat in the holiday mood since the beginning of November but after Thanksgiving dinner today and all the talk about the family gift exchange and the planning for who’s house we would celebrate Christmas at I am 100 per cent into the mood. If you celebrate Chanukah or Kwanzaa are you in the mood? :o ---

I should have just asked “are you in the holiday mood yet?” Make it more all inclusive regardless of what you celebrate between December and the New Year. Are you in the holiday mood yet? ---

I won’t be able to afford to buy anyone presents this year, nor will I have the money to fly home so no… not at all. ---

Sorry for your situation, **Aesiron.** I am definitely in the mood, which is quite a switch from last year, when because of various occurences I didn’t get into the mood until the last minute. We’re kinda broke ourselves but we don’t go crazy over gifts anyway. It’s a good thing I am in the mood, because I am cooking Christmas Eve dinner this year. ---

Never in the mood. My entire family doesn’t care either. We used to do christmas when I was really young, but for the last ten years we haven’t done anything. My mom gave me a pair of gloves (not wrapped) about 3 years ago. I thought that was pretty impressive at the time. ---

This year is going to suck. Really really suck. Whole new heights of suckitude. Talking to my babies on the phone is no substitute to seeing them Christmas morning. P.S. Thanksgiving sucked too ---

Nope. After last year, I’ve pretty much given up on the holidays. I just look forward to finishing exams and getting 2 weeks to relax. Anything more than that is a pain in the ass. Christmas and everything that comes with it, included. ---

I’m definitely getting there. Tomorrow I’ll be getting out all the decorations. I can’t wait to put up my new holiday village (that only cost me about $25 at the dollar store). Maybe I just like the holidays because it gives me an excuse to buy things on sale. ---

I just ordered a Christmas wreath. One of those wreaths that _smells_ really good (or at least the online store says so). That will help boost my Christmas spirit a little bit. I also will have to dig out my Christmas music. (I have _Handel’s Messiah_ in my iTunes playlist already, but I want more stuff!) Christmas has sucked for many years. It took its first big blow after my dad died, because he really carried a lot of Christmas spirit with him (the great Christmas music collection, the Christmas morning calls starting with “Bah, Humbug!” and so forth). Then Christmas tanked completely when I moved out of state. My dad’s sisters (the aunties) were still pretty Christmas-y and Christmas with them and the rest of the family was still pretty festive. Now I never seem to be able to get back home to celebrate Christmas with them. A few years I even worked a double shift on Christmas. Sucks, sucks, sucks. But this year, I’m going to at least _try_, That Christmas smell (from a live tree) cannot be found locally. They just don’t sell the really aromatic trees here. So I’m ordering a wreath that _does_ smell good. ---

**HELL NO!!!** _It’s still friggin’ November, fercrissake!!!_ I can drum up something resembling a “christmas spirit” for the 12 Days of Christmas… at least to the extent that I don’t rain on anyone else’s parade. But that’s it, man. ---

Sort of. I’m a little worried about money, but I figure Christmas for me and the Mr. can be in January. As long as the squirt has a good Christmas, that’s all that matters. As far as the attitude, yeah. Getting the house clean so we can decorate soon. Peace on earth, good will toward men. I even fed a stray cat yesterday. ---

There’s snow on the ground and we’re singing holiday music in Choir. Hot cocoa is plentiful. Yeah, I’d say I’m in a Christmas mood. Sadly, I can’t support that mood through the buying of things for others. Stupid being broke… ☹ ---

Thanksgiving sucked too Seconded. I do not expect to be in the holiday spirit for even one minute this year – my son left for boot camp on the 14th and won’t be graduating until after the New Year. And, because our daughter is still at home, I have to go through the motions anyway. I don’t know yet if Nick will even be able to call on Christmas Day – I was hopeful he would on Thanksgiving, but he didn’t. ---
