I pay for subscriptions to the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, and The Economist. And i subscribe to NPR, Reuters, Al Jazeera, and the AP news. (Which are free, although i contribute towards NPR.) I dropped my subscription to The Guardian and the NYT. I didn’t read the Guardian often enough, and the NYT bothered me with biased and misleading reporting. (They had some scary graphs about covid that were very misleading, for example. A lot of my job involves telling stories with graphs, so i take professional umbrage when people tell misleading stories with graphs.)
I’ve considered subscribing to the Atlantic and the New Yorker, both of which give you unfettered access to a couple of free articles.
