I’ve asked this before: where is this story from? I don’t remember it from Hesiod. Where is this story told? I’ve never read it in any of my explorations of the Greek gods. But, yes, definitely, Athena is a very good choice to follow. A goddess of wisdom and of war: the wisdom to avoid fighting, but the might to fight well when it comes down to it. And a shield, implying fighting in a defensive mode, which is how one holds the moral high ground. Athena over Yahweh: easy choice to make! Athena every time. ---
