Male, 5’9". If I were any taller or shorter none of my pants would fit, so eff that. When my wife & I moved to Minnesota 20 years ago, she pointed out that I was going to have to get used to being short. I pointed out that I wasn’t short, and she just smiled. We moved to Minnesota, and I was short. I told this story to my teenaged kids about ten years later when we came back to California for my parents’ anniversary, and I told them that we were going to get to be tall for a few days. When we were walking through the airport in SF, I pointed at the crowd of Japanese tourists standing around the baggage claim and said “See? We’re tall!” When we got back to Minnesota, a group of bros passed us by, and they were all over 6’2" so my daughter said “Well, I guess we’re back to being short again…” ---

Male, a little shorter than I’d ideally like to be at 5’ 10 & 1/2" (That half is important for us under six footers, been told I could “pass” for 5’ 11!) Not tall enough to enjoy the socioeconomic and sexual competition/romantic benefits of being a “tall guy”, not short enough to have felt any need to overcompensate by developing my intelligence, personality and sense of humor. The curse of the (maybe slightly above) average! Perfect world I’d be, say, 6’ 2’’. ---

I voted _man, too short_ but really I’m fine. It’s just that I’m a quarter inch shy of six feet. It’s annoying. ---

Female, 5’8". I always wanted to be 5’10". I’m okay with 5’8" since I can’t do much about it but wish my horse was taller. We’re a little out of proportion to each other. And I’m with **Nava**. Where’s the cheesecake? ---

I’m a 5 feet, 5.5 inches (which is about 165 cm for those of you in metric land) male. Have wanted to taller since I was in high school almost 40 years ago. I guess that if I were Asian or Hispanic I would probably be considered about average. But my ancestors came from northern Europe and I find that I am almost always shorter than men of similar ancestry. ---

I’m female and I used to be 5’2", but I’m less than that now. I’m way too short. Especially for my boobs. ---

I’m pretty much exactly average in height, so I wouldn’t mind being just a bit taller- mostly just to see if there’s any sort of difference. Years ago a friend of mine told me, “I like you, but I could never date you- I like taller guys.” I replied, “That’s okay, I like women with bigger tits.” ---

I am 6’0" and I mostly wish I was a little shorter. To be more comfortable in airplanes and back seats of automobiles. And not have my feet hang off the end of the bed. I seldom think about the advantages of being taller like reaching things on the top shelf. I would like my body to be more proportional. My torso is long and I have hard time keeping shirts tucked into my pants. ---

Man, somewhere between 6’ and 6’1", and I’m fine. When I was younger, I wanted to be at least 6’3", but that was strictly because I was really into being a football player and wanted to play Div I offensive line, and 6’1" is generally too short for that. Once I banged up my knee in my jr year of high school and quit playing, I didn’t really care anymore- I was my full grown-up height by then and considered myself plenty tall otherwise. ---

Too tall here. Life would be simpler if my feet were one size smaller. As it is, only around 5-10% of shoe styles are available in US14, and then with only the most generic (black, grey) color option. Same deal with pants and long sleeved shirts. I had dreams of being a fighter pilot or even an Astronaut. As if! One friend has a formulaFord he’d let me hot lap if I could fit in it. And no, I have never had any interest in basketball. Stupid game. ---

I am (just) tall enough to reach the overhead projector in the room where I teach by standing on one of the desks, so I guess that makes me exactly the right height. (When I am not trying to reach the overhead projector, I don’t really think very much about my height.)
