In any reasonable house, I would be the slob; but as it stands, I’m forced into being the clean one, or we’re all going to die of dysentery or something. At work I’m one of the clean ones, because it’s so pleasant being able to actually get things _clean_ rather than marginally less filthy, which seems to be the best that can be achieved in this house, at least without dedicating weeks to the job. ---

I like a tidy home and I don’t mind working for it, but my standards are often not as stringent as my wife’s. Therefore I do things such as the dishes and laundry, because those are chores with a clearly defined end. There’s none of the ambiguity of “Well, _I_ think the shower walls are clean enough, but will _she_?” ---

I’m the cleaner one; I’ll clean up after cooking in steps and wipe stuff down as I go. My wife will make toast in the morning and leave crumbs on the countertop without sweeping them into her hand and into the sink or trash, which really bugs me. So I clean more often, and when she cleans she’ll do a deeper clean. Except for the smooth-top stove, which she says I need to clean every time I use it, even if it is already clean. ---

I say I’m single but I do have 2 daughters and we’re all the slobs. My roommate is the neat one. I’m sure it drives him crazy to come upstairs but I try to keep things livable at least. I make an effort to clean the kitchen after I use it since we all share it. ---

I keep things neat, clean, and organized, right down to keeping the spices in identical jars in alphabetical order. My roommate’s habits would horrify Pigpen and Oscar the Grouch. ---

Live alone and am tidy, and have always been the ‘tidy one’ when living with partners. At the weekends I might cook 3/4 times a day and wash up each time, sweep several times a week, and tidy up any mess before I go to bed. And I have a cleaner. ---

I “pick up” daily. My wife cleans properly about every two weeks. I think it works out about evenly. ---

I am kind of a slob but not horrible. Messes outside the kitchen don’t bother me. I like a clean kitchen. If I clean up once a week and start over I am fine with that. The girlfriend wants everything clean all the time. If I am going to work on something tomorrow and the mess is not in the way I prefer to leave it out. ---

I live with my father and he is epitome of neat. Everything in its place and from that place it does not waver. His mother was even more so. I inherited the gene but it diluted a little with my mom’s input so I am less complulsively neat. But still on the neat end of things. Clean is a different story.
