# Area in WV where cellphones are banned

And a lot of other stuff is banned too. Because of a big radio telescope.

I have heard of that installation. Not cellular phones are banned, of course, actually all radio interference (the article mentions problems with Wi-Fi, electric doorbells, aircraft radar, and spark plugs, among other things).

very few people live there. whole county is less than 10k

If you look at the National Radio Quiet Zone in it’s entirety, it’s larger than I thought

yes but there are cities in it like Charlottesville and I assume they have normal radio stations since they are farther away.
