Gilbert Arenas gets a lot of bad press after the incident with Crittenton. He may lose his contract or be traded away. But Crittenton was involved too, I don’t read anything about his punishment. Why is that? ---

Well, you don’t read about it because nobody knows or cares about him. But he was suspended indefinitely by the team and is currently out injured. It seems the gun he allegedly brought into the locker room was not found by police, so that might spare him the legal troubles. ---

I can’t tell you how many times these headlines scared me leading up to the BCS championship game. I kept thinking they meant JAVIER Arenas. :smack: ---

Arenas entered a guilty plea. Crittenton hasn’t done that yet, and hasn’t voluntarily spoken with the police as far as I know. ---

What was weird was that in the very first reports I heard, Crittendon’s response to Arenas was something like - Crittendon pulls his own gun and says, “Yeah, I got my own piece, bitch!” This made me thing that both guys were in for it. But almost immediately, ALL I heard about was how Arenas was up shit creek. Not a WORD about the other guy. He’s no Gilbert Arenas, I guess, but still, he’s just not even mentioned… Joe ---

Right. They can’t pin anything on Crittendon just yet because he hasn’t “confessed.” They may yet get a witness who will testify, in which case charges may be filed. But so far he’s maintaining silence and forcing them to make a case, instead of admitting upfront he broke the law. My guess is that Arenas didn’t realize how seriously people would take the issue and didn’t think to clam up and consult a lawyer first.
