They give us milk, butter, cheese, meat, leather, comedy, and economic destruction. I can’t think of a cooler animal in the whole of creation. I like cows. egg ---

When I worked in a children’s publishing house, another editor in a different, non-fiction imprint was on a secret personal crusade to include a cow in every book he worked on. This proved to be a real challenge, since they published many biographies. I think his proudest accomplishment was finding a photo of a young Jacqueline Bouvier with a cow. Their Jackie Onassis biography had a cow in it! ---

They had a contest a couple years ago in Switzerland. Who could paint the best cow, I think it was. Somebody showed me pictures. Afterward, they took 100s of these full-sized cows and put them all over the place: roofs, sidewalks, stores, balconies. The Swiss are a little odd, but at least they have proper respect. ---

Some can still be found around… one in Calgary is still at Chinook mall I believe near the Time Capsule… and one is in Edmonton near one of the hotels uhm -thinks- Jasper and 106th or 107th something like that. ---

Question: Why could the small cow get under the fence, but not the small horse? Answer: Because the small cow was a little lower. Cows is cool. ---

I grew up on a Dairy farm (next to actually but I was paid to help out during childhood) and the cows all seemed to be very relaxed. I mean they are locked in a stall virtually all winter long when it’s cold to go outside, and they never seem to get upset about it. Sometimes during milking they’ll try and kick - but if some guy came up and started playing with my breasts, I’d get pretty upset myself. I guess they figure “So I’m locked up, but I get fed everyday without fail and never have to worry about food…I also get nailed by a bull once a year or so and that bull has had plenty of experience so I don’t have it so bad”. Some cows are artificially inseminated, those cows get the shaft I suppose - no pun intended. Anyhow, the long and short of it is, I like cows too…they always seem relaxed.
