I think there are some things that are not great about porn. However, I don’t think any study has ever linked porn consumption with rape. In fact, in places like Japan, where schoolgirl porn is ubiquitous, rates of sexual assault are very low, especially compared to the US. I’m willing to bet, also, that jerking off to a schoolgirl vid enables some to participate in a fantasy they feel no need to act on. I think most people are just really fine with some things being relegated to fantasy. So I’ve heard. ---

Porn doesn’t cause rape. It just teaches boys that in every situation all they need to do is show up and young women will fall on the floor in an orgasmic fit for them. When they don’t he gets mad and turns incel and stalks him one. Sometimes it leads to rape..or murder. Or sometimes it leads to him marrying some poor girl and terrorizing her. Abusively and sexually. WHERE EVER, you live. Teach your boys, Moms and Dads. Don’t let pornography teach them. ---

I see in my own personal experience a lot of porn that uses misogynist language and imagery, so I wouldn’t be shocked if it contributed to generally bad attitudes toward women when that specific content was consumed voraciously. Especially if it was consumed from a young age. But generally I think most men know life is not a porno. That’s probably why they are watching one. Women fantasize just as heavily (and many women fantasize about rape! There are entire subgenres of romance on that very theme), and we are just as aware that it isn’t real. Sexual fantasy exists in a realm far outside what people would generally find plausible, sensible, or ethical in real life. And that’s fine. ---

I’ve always wondered how many young people learned about sex neither from porn or parents but rather from their peers. When I was eleven, my classmate and his girl were expelled for going all the way at school. It gave me a lesson in so many ways. ---

I learned a lot about sex from my peers, and most of it was ludicrously wrong, because they were all just as clueless about it as I was (but nobody dared express any incredulity, because of course we were all afraid of exposing our own ignorance). I expect it’s been that way for most of human history. ---
